In 2008 I finished a manual that I use to train teachers and parents regarding working together for the benefit of our children on the Autism Spectrum. In 2010 I was asked to speak at a Leadership Retreat regarding Special Needs in the church and teamwork. This book is a manual, a starting point to help churches navigate special needs within their church. What that looks like and what must happen. When I pondered writing this, I sat back and thought about what it is that I desire most as a parent, professional and the wife of a pastor in the smaller church when it comes to special needs Three things came to mind and it is truly amazing how they actually link together and UNIFY. From experience with our own son who has Autism and the wife of a pastor, I can honestly say I have seen this work and open doors to a group of families who often times feel they have nowhere to go for support, encouragement and acceptance.
